A Commercial Real Estate Rock Star is Born

Congratulations to David Williams of Lee & Associates. David is the lucky winner of the Fender guitar signed by the Grammy Award-winning band Train.

David won the guitar by participating in LoopNet’s recent promotion, following the LoopNet LA Traffic Jam held in downtown LA in January.

Ok – a guitar may not instantly make David a musical rock star but he is a rock star in commercial real estate. David is a Principal of Lee & Associates – Orange, CA, specializing in industrial and investment properties. He has been marketing his properties using Premium Lister for almost 10 years. He brokered over 19 deals in the last year, is the owner representative for 79 buildings and has 25 listings on the market. Congratulations David – keep up the good work in commercial real estate and no pressure, but we will all be looking for your first number one hit on the Billboard Music Charts.

While we can only have one winner walk away with the guitar prize, everyone can still see clips of the live performance by Train and witness the stunning visual effect that made a 12-story building vanish in downtown LA. This effect was part of our recent marketing campaign to demonstrate if a property isn’t advertised with LoopNet’s Premium Lister, it might as well be invisible. Watch the video.

Serving it up at the SF Ronald McDonald House

Last night LoopNet employees helped prepare meals at the Ronald McDonald House in San Francisco. The dinner was delicious and residents of the house left with their bellies full.

On the menu, a Mexican themed taco bar! Diners made their own tacos (or nachos or taco salad) from all sorts of freshly prepared fillings. To top off the meal, homemade churros—a real crowd pleaser!

Many thanks go out to Joel Andrews, Jennifer Courtney, Maxine Bragg, Marc Rehberger, Tyler Wagner, Katy Wilson, Alex Rodriguez and Erin Wong who all worked together to pull off this successful dinner. Though the menu was ambitious, everything turned out perfectly and the residents of the Ronald McDonald house were very pleased and thankful for the home cooked meal. Plenty of leftovers were also left at the house for families who could not make it in time for dinner service.

A big thanks to those who spent the three hours after work with us last night to help prepare the meal. Your time and efforts are much appreciated by us and the families at Ronald McDonald house.

LoopNet Makes a Building Vanish in Downtown LA

Using the power of 3D projection, LoopNet made a building vanish from the LA skyline at their epic event, the LA Traffic Jam, on January 18th. The night featured a private concert by the Grammy award-winning band Train and a mind-blowing special effect. In a first-of-its kind experience, LoopNet demonstrated that ‘if your commercial real estate listings aren’t advertised with LoopNet Premium Lister, they may as well be invisible.’

The event was attended by top professionals in the industry including Michael McRoskey, Managing Director of Jones Lang LaSalle, and winner of the backstage meet and greet with the band.  Michael also walked away with a $1250 Fender guitar signed by the band.

Now it's your turn!  Watch the video for your chance to win a guitar signed by Train.

Holy crap, a listings map!

You don’t have to hit the pavement to familiarize yourself with a particular market, city, or neighborhood. Just conduct a search, expand the map from the search results page and hone in on an area’s listings. Draw a polygon to focus the search to your exact specifications, or get an aerial or bird’s eye view of a listing.

Map Search - Polygon and Bird's Eye View

And if you are out and about, use the free LoopNet App to Map Search on-the-go. The app defaults to search for properties nearby or you can conduct a custom search.

We love Map Search so much we wrote it a nice little poem:

An Ode to LoopNet Map Search
Map Search, oh, Map Search, how I love you.
You make it so easy to do what I do.
You capture my spirit to get out and explore,
Yet you allow me to do it without leaving the door.
I could get out my phone, laptop or ipad,
And search what’s nearby until my clients are glad.
Or I could see what’s for sale and what is for lease,
Without sitting in traffic and having to pee.

I can draw out a polygon of all the right streets
And it filters the listings without missing a beat.
I zoom and I pan around the whole map
And search by location when using the app.
And once I have narrowed it down to a few
I can check out the buildings in “Bird’s Eye View.”
Yes, I can search high and low, or near and far.
Until I find that perfect property… then head to the bar.

Start searching!
